The books together will record 72 scalawaginous lives in total, so the series producers will have more than ample materials to create a 13 episode series. has secured the film and TV rights to these works. The first volume, based on Christy’s columns of the same name which publish in the high end magazine Nuvo, was first published in book form by Anvil Press in 2008, with a second volume to follow.

Scalawags the TV Series will feature the lives and times of “gamblers and adventurers, con men and con women, rodomontades and ragamuffins, outright fools and outrageous liars” through the ages (from the book Scalawags, by Jim Christy).
